2. What time do the auditions start?
Registration begins at 8:00am and the auditions begin at 9:00am.
3. What can the entrants do?
They should perform a musical talent - e.g. sing
4. Can anyone enter?
To enter you must be over 16 and you cannot be under management, i.e. you cannot have a manager. If you are less than 18 years old you must have a legal guardian sign your release forms.
5. If someone is singing, do they need to bring music?
We require you to sing acapella for the auditions. However you should bring your music on CD for reference.
6. Can someone sing their own song?
Yes, someone can sing their own song and they can sing someone else’s song, as long as they sing it acapella.
7. Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee, and no performance fee.
8. Can one enter on the Sunday if they do not get called back from the Saturday audition?
Yes they can.
9. When does the show air on Television?
The first show, will air on TV6 on Sunday September 13, 2009 at 8pm.
10. Can anyone vote?
All DIGICEL subscribers can vote via text or calls.
11. How will I know what numbers to text?
The numbers you need to use to vote to will be announced on TV and will be seen in the daily press.
12. How much does voting cost?
All votes (text messages and calls cost $2.00 (Vat inclusive)
13. Is it the same cost from prepaid and postpaid?
Yes the cost is the same from prepaid and from postpaid.
14. My text failed, is there any other way to vote?
You will not be charged for error messages.
15. Can I use my free text messages to vote?
No you cannot.
16. Can I vote for different people?
Yes of course you can. You may vote as many times as you like for multiple contestants.
17. I don’t like texting can I ring in and vote?
Yes you can and the numbers will be announced on TV. All calls cost $2 (including VAT)
18. I texted my vote in and got no response, do I need to do it again?
No you don’t. All votes are recorded but you do not get a text response.
19. Can I vote multiple times?
Yes of course you can. You will be charged $2.00 vat inclusive for each vote.
20. When will the winners be announced?
The winners of the shows will be announced the week following the airing of the show.
21. I’m a TSTT customer and I want to vote, how can I vote?
This is a Digicel promotion which is only open to Digicel Customers in Trinidad and Tobago.
22. Can I vote online?
No unfortunately we do not have online voting available
23. When does voting close?
Voting for the show aired on Sunday closes at 12 noon on the following Saturdays
24. When are the finals?
The finals will be held on November 22, 2009.
25. Who are the sponsors of the series?
Digicel Rising Stars 2009 is sponsored by Digicel. Other co-sponsors such as Liat and the Express Newspaper are also involved.
