How does Roaming Work?
Digicel has roaming agreements with other GSM operations worldwide that allow Digicel customers to use these partner networks when travelling abroad.
Before you are ready to travel, you may be asked to increase your credit limit. Please contact our 24 hour customer care centre on 100 from your Digicel phone free of charge or 399-9999 from a fixed line, for further details on your account before you leave T&T. Once you have done this, you are then ready to roam*. Before you leave the country, remember to follow these 2 easy steps:
- Find the Network Selection setting in your Digicel mobile phone menu, and select "AUTOMATIC' before you go to the airport.
- When you have reached your destination, turn on your phone and allow it to update and locate Digicel's partner network in that country.
There are some handsets that will require you to manually select the network. To do this, go to Menu, Network Selection, Select Manual. However, if you are travelling to a 900 mhz or an 1800 mhz GSM market, eg. Europe, you can follow steps 1 & 2 above.
You are now ready to make and receive calls and to send and receive text messages using your Digicel mobile phone.
Remember, we are always adding new International Roaming Partners so it's wise to check our website for details or call our Customer Care before you travel.
